What was once a humble farming garden The Yende and Partners (pty)LTD enterprise is today a family-owned private business. That currently already farms 3 major commodities, which are livestock, grains, and vegetables. The business is run by a father and daughter duo, and the business has been passed down and fully operated by Hlobisile Bathabile Yende who is now the majority shareholder of the business with 80% of the business shares. The company was built from scratch to where it is now. Building it on knowledge passed down by the previous generation. I am currently operating a functional farm that is 1064 hectares in size and is situated on property number 390 IR Nooitegedacht, Ratanda, Heidelberg in the Lesedi municipality within the Sedibeng district. We currently employ 22 permanent staff members on the farm. We also operate an accredited student program for female aspiring farmers to do their integrated learning.
We recently butternuts to the business and planted over 1 hectare of dry land with no irrigation. To our surprise we got 40 tons from the field.
I was awarded the best training initiative award 2023 at the South African Agricultural Awards on June 2023 for the student training initiative (The Yende’s Student Program) that we operate on the farm.

I was also recently awarded the “Inspirational Women 2023” award by the Women Navigating the Future Network in partnership with Allan Gray in August 2023.
I have also released by first agricultural children’s book titled “Lethu the farmer” that teaches children as young as 4 years old how to farm, and where all their daily foods come from.

My father Mr Charles Yende was awarded the Lifetimes Achievement also at the South African Agricultural Awards on June 2023.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As a director of this family business, I am incredibly proud of the
journey and success we have achieved thus far, for a business that
has stemmed from my grandfather in Mpumalanga and passed down
to my father who started with a farm in Nigel, Gauteng to where we
are now our happy home. We have introduced a 3rd commodity. We
have grown to be a big household brand in the industry.
Our success is rooted in our unwavering commitment to quality,
precision, and customer satisfaction. We have over the years
managed to retain and train our team. Their expertise and dedication
have been instrumental in our growth and the successful completion
of all our calving, lambing, kidding, planting and harvesting seasons.
Our Award-winning Accredited student program that accommodates
female students. The program is aimed to provide integrated learning
and exposure for 3rd year agricultural students in order for them to
graduate
As the founder of the business, who has since handed over the reins to my energetic and
hardworking daughters, she has shown dedication and we as a business are constantly
learning. We have become more informed and the changes she has brought about have put
the business on another level that we have not even imagined. It gives me peace to know
that the business is and will be in good hands for generations to come.
